Do you ever just look at something and think, why on Earth did they make this?
As much as I love beauty products and want a collection to rival the counters at Boots, occasionally I will come across a product and be so adamant I’m not going to buy it. I do like to think positively but by formulating an anti- haul, it allows me to focus on products I really want and helps me to avoid mass consumerism.
It’s just a bit tongue and cheek and we all have different opinions. This is just some of the beauty products I won’t be purchasing. I hope I don’t offend anyone.
Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eye Shadow Palette- £39.50
Too Faced usually has adorable packaging but something about this palette seems off. Three of the gold shades seem very similar and the colours don’t look appealing at all. The green looks so out of place too and the golden pan seems quite tacky. I think you would need other palettes as well as this one for a full eye look and it’s just not something I would spend my money on. This has potential to be good if they made some tweaks to it.
L’Oréal Infallible Foundation Stick- £8.99
This is nothing against L’Oréal but I just chose their foundation as an example. I don’t ever see myself using a stick foundation, it just seems too time consuming and I just imagine my face looking patchy after application. My personal preference is a liquid formula as it’s easy and provides my face with a flawless even coverage.
Jeffree Star Skin Frost Highlighting Palette- £35.00
Similar to my previous Anti-Haul post, I don’t like Jeffree Star and don’t want to support him. The palette has six shades and I would only wear one of them. The other five seem odd and not typical colours I would chose to highlight my face with. It’s pretty pricey for something that wouldn’t get used very often, if at all.
Maybelline West Coast Cool Eye Shadow Palette- £13.99
Don’t get me wrong this palette from Maybelline looks pretty but those shades look so dull. They look so sad sat there being all non pigmented. I wish they were more vibrant. The price point really puts me off also, £13.99 for 6 shades? I know it’s a Gigi Hadid collection but it seems steep for a drugstore palette, especially one with such few colours.
Moschino Pink Fresh Couture Eau de Toilette- £50 for 50ml
The beauty of perfumes is the amazing bottles they come in. There is no way I would spend £50 for a fragrance that looks like a glass cleaner. It also comes in a blue and white packaging which looks even worse. I honestly don’t know what they were thinking when they designed this. They were probably trying to be quirky and different but it’s a firm no from me.
Benefit Bad Gal Mascara- £20.50
I absolutely adore my mascaras and have done since I was a teenager. As long as my lashes are looking longer, fuller and don’t resemble spider legs, I’m not too picky on what brand I use. There is so many great mascaras from the drugstore these days that I don’t feel the need to splash out over £20 on one tube. The wand looks nothing special.
Natasha Denona Star Palette
How much?! £140 for an eye shadow palette! Not in this lifetime. You can get 4 high end palettes for that amount. I could never justify spending that much on one 12 shade eye palette.
That’s it for this anti-haul, I did another anti-haul , if you would like to check that out. I like to be more mindful of where my money is going these days and not be so impulsive when it comes to purchases, posts like these help me to weigh up the pros and cons of different items. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading XOXO.
