How I’ve Got On With My New Year’s Resolutions A Month Later

I literally can’t believe we’re approaching February already! Time really does fly once you’ve left school. I’m going to blink and wake up in a nursing home. Since it’s been a whole month since I made my New Year’s resolutions, I want to reflect on how I’ve done and if I’ve stuck to them or not.

Quote 2

Drink More Water
This was my first resolution and I’m pleased to say it is successful. I use to drink at least 2 glasses of water a day, now it’s at least 3 or 4. If you read my How I’m Going To Save Money This Year post you’ll know I have started taking a water bottle with me when I go out. I definitely notice a difference in my skin on days I’ve drank a lot of water.

Exercise More
I’d say I’ve only half achieved this goal in the sense that I am exercising more than I did in the month coming up to Christmas but I would still like to do more. My initial plan was to exercise 4 times a week but I haven’t managed that many workouts. I have been to a trampoline park twice in January and that really tested my fitness levels. We’ve decided to make this a regular fortnightly activity so I’m hoping to be fitter and healthier.

Stop Cracking My Knuckles
This was such a bad habit for me which was only getting worse. However, I’ve reduced the amount I’ve cracking my knuckles and wrists loads. I’m very pleased with this and I’m going to continue to make a conscious effort to avoid doing it in the future.

Read More Books
The last week or so I’ve started reading again and managed to finish one of the books I wanted to read, as well as being halfway through another. I’ve dedicated Sunday mornings when I’m sat in the cafe, whilst my daughter is at her swimming lesson, to get a good half an hour’s reading in. I think I may resubscribe to Audible so I can get through some more audio books too.

Eat Out Less
I’ve had a big problem with eating out ever since I was 17 at my first job. I just really enjoy the experience of sitting in a restaurant surrounded by other people and indulging in delicious food. There was a few occasions in January where I really wanted to order a takeaway or go to the pub for food but instead opted to eat at home. In them moments, I felt very proud that I had enough willpower. I’m still going to enjoy eating out but just less often. I mean, we all gotta eat, right? So buying food isn’t too much of a waste (trying to justify myself).

Well, I would say I was very triumphant in my New Year’s resolutions. If I can just do some more workouts I will be very pleased with my progress. I’m going to continue following these resolutions until they become a habit and I don’t have to think about them. I hope you enjoyed reading this, let me know if you managed to keep up with your resolutions in the comments below. Thanks for reading XOXO.

Thanks for updating! 🙂 A lot of people make New Year’s resolutions but not a lot of them stick to those resolutions even for a month and make an update on it. One of my last minute resolutions for this year was to become a vegetarian. Surprisingly, it was successful for me as a dedicated meat eater for all of my life. Day 32 and I’m still not eating meat and feeling better than ever! 🙂

Well done on sticking to it! I’ve been determined to accomplish my goals and making a blog post about it is even more motivating 🙂 x

UHG I am SO bad with drinking water as well. It’s good that you are doing a check-in so early on so that you can make sure that you don’t go too far off track! Good idea 🙂

It’s a good way to make sure you stick to them by writing it for the whole world to see haha x
