Huda Beauty Smokey Obsessions Palette Review

The Huda Beauty palettes have been on my wish list for sometime, as I’d never used any of her products I wanted to try one of her mini eyeshadow palettes before investing in the full size. With the go to nude shades and the gorgeous shimmers, I opted for the Smokey Obsessions one but it does come in other variations. When I took a trip to the states last month I made a list of products I wanted to purchase whilst out there (read here). As this was cheaper than here in the UK, this palette was high on my list.

The Details

– Weight: 10g

– Cost: £25.00

-Available: Amazon, Cult Beauty and Selfridges

The packaging is just absolutely everything, I think it’s possibly my favourite ever. It’s in a sleek black cardboard with a strong magnetic lid and a textured picture of the eyeshadows on the front. It also has a mirror on the inside which is always a bonus.

Before opening the palette, my immediate thought was on how small it actually is. The whole thing is just slightly bigger than my palm. Inside the shadows are placed very closely together as to not take up any necessary space. You get 9 eyeshadows in total, 4 mattes and 5 metallic shimmers.

To say I’m impressed is an understatement. The shades were so pigmented and glided onto my skin beautifully. Without any primers I used my fingers to swatch the shadows with one swipe.

I’ve been using this palette a lot since I got back from holiday and they have consistently performed amazingly. They are so long lasting and don’t smudge throughout the day. I love the mattes shades and like to smudge the browns in my lower lash line. However, the stars of this palette are definitely the metallic shades. The rose gold in the bottom corner has an immense pigmentation and is my favourite overall. Just dipping my finger into the pan it picks up so much product and feels creamy to touch. There is very little fallout from the shades, just the odd speck of glitter here and there.

I’m extremely happy with my purchase and would recommend this palette. It’s a great way to try Huda Beauty eyeshadows without paying for the full size palettes. I can use the browns for an everyday nude eye look and the shimmers for some statement glam. Once I’ve panned some more of my eyeshadow palettes I’d like to buy some more from this brand.

That was my review of the Smokey Obsessions Palette from Huda Beauty. Have you tried any of their palettes, what did you think? Let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading XOXO.

I love the Obsessions palettes! I have the Smokey and the Warm Brown versions. They are everything.

What kind of look did you create with this palette when you tried it out? I imagine you could make a killer smokey eye with it.

I tried ordering this palette TWICE and both times it came broken. Looks beautiful though. I have the other Mauve Obsessions one but haven’t used it that much for whatever reason.

I did have to hunt for one that wasn’t broken in Sephora tbf. That’s also a lovely palette 😊

I love the metallics in that palette! Also, that’s a cute MAC brush you’ve got!
