July Goals

First and foremost I want to apologise for being MIA for almost a week. I’ve been ill and haven’t had the energy to check on my blog or read any others. I’m still not 100% but I feel a lot better than I did.

I normally start these monthly goals posts by reflecting on the previous month but June has been a really strange and difficult month. With a bad episode of my depression and my mum and daughter both being ill too, it’s not been easy to accomplish my goals from June. To cut it short, I managed to reach my follower count goal and I decluttered my room.

Hopefully, July will be a better month and I can be more proactive in reaching my targets. My aim for this month is to set realistic achievements and complete them all. I feel so disappointed I didn’t manage to do any of my previous month’s goals but it has given me a kick up the bum to smash my goals this time.

July’s Goals

Take part in No Buy July
I can hear my inner voice screaming inside as I write this. No shopping for a month is going to be so bloody hard. That means no mindless browsing on ASOS either as it’ll only make me feel worse. I’m only allowed to purchase essential items. I’ve set myself a very small weekly budget for miscellaneous/ leisure but I’m not allowed to buy makeup, clothes, accessories, home decor, etc. All the money I would’ve spent is going into a savings account.

Take my blog to the next level
My premium subscription for WordPress is expiring this month and I’ve been toying with the idea of going self hosted. I really want a new theme for my blog and some other features I don’t currently have. It’d give my blog a more professional look and perhaps help it grow.

Practice my makeup skills
Whenever a blogger posts photos of their makeup looks the first thing that pops into my head is, how did they get it to look that good on camera? What’s your secret? I look like a sweaty, oily mess and the details just don’t pick up on camera. I’m going to try taking more photos with different makeup looks to find a technique that works for me. I feel like my eye looks are decent in person but on camera they just look MEH.

Reach the big 1000 followers
Eeek, I’m so thrilled my little baby blog is going to hit four figures soon (fingers crossed)! Hopefully, I can reach it before the end of July. Remember, I’ll be doing another giveaway when I hit that milestone, so keep your eyes out for that.

Get up earlier
Thanks to the heat wave, my sleeping pattern is f*cked. I’m tossing and turning for hours before I finally drift off. Not that I want the sunshine to go away. I’d like to reset my body clock and fall asleep earlier if possible. My plan is to exercise in the evening and have a cold shower right before bed to cool me down.

Those are going to be my July goals. I tried not to repeat any of the previous goals, even though I didn’t manage to complete them. If you have any tips for me I’d love to hear them. Thanks for reading XOXO.

I don’t know how women get their makeup so perfect to begin with, I follow a tutorial and look like a hot mess, while they look like a runway model. πŸ™‚ I need more practice!

I feel the same way about the blog photos! I can never get little details to pick up especially certain colors or glitters. Good luck with your goals for July!
