It’s been a year since I took the plunge and hit publish on my first ever blog post and what a year it’s been. There’s been highs and lows but overall a great learning experience. I wanted to do this post to reflect on how my first year’s gone.
First Blog Post
My first ever blog post was my July Favourites, back when my Zoeva Palette was still clean. I was really proud of this picture and went all out picking the leaves from my mum’s garden haha! All the products used are still much loved favourites to this day.
Most Popular Post
As I’ve changed my domain name and server host, my stats from my older posts have disappeared but prior to that 45 Winter Blog Post Ideas For Beauty & Lifestyle Bloggers was my most popular post. It’s no surprise this got a lot of traffic as people like to search for help and advice.

Top 3 Favourite Posts
I couldn’t decide on 1 favourite post so I chose 3 that I love. Reviews, particularly of palettes, are some of my favourite type of blog posts. Dipping my finger into a shade for the first time and swatching it gives me so much joy and I enjoy sharing my thoughts on different products with everyone. Them, along with hauls, are my favourite blog posts to read also.
I hosted my first ever giveaway when I hit 500 followers which was won by Sarah from Vintage Tea Rose.
More recently I had reached 1000 followers and hosted my second competition which was won by Nita from Nita Jain8.
Freebies I’ve Received
I was lucky enough to receive a Vox Box from Influenster which contained two Marc Jacobs Highliners. I wrote a blog post with a review on them if you want to read it click here.
Last month I also won a giveaway from The Happy Minimalist Girl who’s another blogger in which I was given a Physician’s Formula Bronzer and Blusher. I was so surprised as I never win anything and it’s from a brand we don’t have in the UK which is really exciting. The pattern looks so pretty I’m almost scared to ruin it. She also included this cute card, thank you again!
As well as all the blog posts and makeup, I’ve grown in confidence so much. I use to be so scared to comment on anything or talk to anyone on the internet but now I’m more at ease and will happily send positive messages without feeling embarrassed. My love for makeup, skincare, fashion and writing only gets stronger and I can’t see myself quitting anytime soon.
You may have also noticed my blog is now self hosted and under the name imperfectbeauty.co.uk instead of imperfectbeauty.blog. I hope you enjoyed this trip down memory lane with me. Thanks for reading XOXO.
