My New Year’s Resolutions For 2018

As we wave goodbye to 2017, it’s time to welcome the new year. For some they use this time to reflect on their lifestyle and make some changes. New year, clean state and a fresh start. I’ve gotten into the habit in recent years of making lists of goals I want to achieve in the upcoming year as well as “New Year’s Resolutions” which are little habits I vow to stick to in order to better myself.

Drink More Water
The first resolution that came to my mind almost immediately was drinking more water. As someone who never use to drink water, I think I have come along way in that I drink at least 2 glasses a day now. I’ve noticed an improvement in my skin and suffer from fewer headaches these days. For 2018, I would like to swap some of my diet cokes and drink even more H2O.

Exercise More
Pretty much everyone says this as their New Year’s resolution but in the last few months I’ve rarely exercised. I use to work out nearly every single day but as the weather has gotten colder and I’ve discovered a love for blogging, my spare time is no longer filled with keeping active. I love blogging but I definitely found myself sat at a computer for hours on end hasn’t done any favours for my waistline. I want to start exercising around 4 times a week, even if it’s a quick ten minute work out at home, it makes all the difference.

Stop Cracking My Knuckles
I’m so bad for this, I’ve done it ever since I was about 10 years old when a friend showed me how to in the playground. Multiple times a day I find myself cracking my knuckles, particularly when I’m concentrating on something. It’s gotten to the point I’ve started doing it to my wrists and toes too. My fingers can get quite sore after doing it which can’t be a good sign. It’s going to be tough but I really want to stop doing it.

Read More Books
With today’s modern technology, we can often find ourselves in front of a screen at any given point. If you’re like me you may even have 2 or 3 to hand at once. I am going to make a conscious effort to put down the technology, have a little switch off and just relax with a good book.

Eat Out Less
As someone who hates cooking, even putting something in the oven seems a chore, I like to eat out quite regularly. I enjoy sitting in a restaurant and having a deliciously big meal. There’s nothing wrong with it and I won’t stop but I want to cut down on eating out in order to save money. I just need to stop being so lazy and cook some dinner at home.

    Drinking more water is fab for your skin and body, I would recommend Highland spring water or vittel water from france, Switz French and Scottish waters are the best on the planet 😁 stay away from tap water if you can they add stuff in that’s not good for you x

      Thank you I usually filter my water first anyway I don’t like the taste of tap water 🙂 x

    I’m trying to do these things, too. Drinking more water is definitely the biggest struggle so far, so sometimes I switch it up for some green tea.

      Green tea has some great benefits! My biggest weakness is sugar atm especially with all the Christmas chocolate hanging around 🙂
