NYX Love Contours All Palette Review

When I go away somewhere I usually have to take seperate contour and eyeshadow palettes which can take up much valued space, espicially considering the ones I like to travel with are large and bulky. With that in mind, I wanted a smaller multi-use palette and this NYX Love Contours All Palette seemed the perfect option so I decided to purchase it and give it a try. It has 9 eyeshadows, 2 highlighters, 2 contour shades and 2 eyebrow powders. The palette also has a nice decent sized mirror which would come in handy if where you’re staying doesn’t have any.

The Details

– Weight: 22.82g

– Cost: £20.00

– Available: Amazon ASOS, Boots, Look Fantastic and Very

The eyeshadows swatched nicely and had good pigmentation but they did kick up a fair bit of dust. The fallout didn’t bother me however and it doesn’t affect how well they perform.
After first application the eyeshadows looked beautiful and drew attention to my eyes but only around an hour later did the colour start to fade. At the end of the day my eyeshadow had creased a bit and wasn’t nearly as pigmented as when first applied.

Once I first applied the contour shades they looked very dark on my skin but they did blend easily into a lovely bronze shade. I’d say they would be suitable for a lot of skin tones as fair shades can use the lighter contour with a slight hand and darker tones can build up the intensity with the darker contour shade.
The two highlighter shades are not as pigmented but are very pretty. There is a cool white shimmer with hints of pink tones and a warm gold highlighter that would give you a subtle sun kissed glow.
Just like the eyeshadows, the face powders too began to fade and by the end of the day were not very noticeable. I did use both a primer and a setting spray beforehand and I have combination skin.

Pros

– Has every shade you need for a neutral everyday look
– Good pigmentation
– Suitable for most skin tones
– Blends easily
– Comes with a decent sized mirror
– Has multiple uses

Cons

– Intensity of the shades doesn’t last all day
– The powders kick up fair amount of dust

Even though I’ve been quite critical of this palette, I am personally happy with it, I just wanted to make sure I covered all bases for the review. The eyeshadows do fade and my look isn’t as polished as when I first applied them but not to the point that I want to stop using the palette. If things like powder kickback bother you, I wouldn’t recommend this but overall I think it’s a handy multi-use product that’s great for travelling with.

That’s my take on the NYX Love Contours All Palette. If you know of any other multi-use products I would love to know! I hope you enjoyed this review. Thanks for reading XOXO.

Great Post! have you ever tried the Primer Potion by urban decay for your eyes? I’ve got oily skin and eyelids 🙁 but the primer potion works wonders and no eyeshadow ever creases or fades when I use that. Anna xx (one half of the Cinnamon Buns and Roses blog)
