October Hits & Misses

We’re now in a brand new month, we’ve waved goodbye to Halloween and if you’re like me, you’ll be on countdown to Christmas from now onward. Autumn is probably my favourite time of year, the fashion is the greatest, brands bring out all their holiday gift sets and I tend to go a little crazy over makeup. I tried a fair few products in October and discovered some new favourites and ones I won’t be repurchasing again. Instead of my typical just favourites post I decided to put them together with products I dislike so you can hear a mini review of each product and hear about things I wouldn’t recommend also.

To start off the hits, I want to talk about the Benefit Bang Mascara which I recently got a mini of from a magazine. The hype is real with this, my lashes are instantly lifted and lengthened. They look so dark and long with just one coat and it’s such a good mascara when you’re in a rush as you don’t need to apply it multiple times. I did however get some mascara in my eyes and I’ve never felt pain from a product like it before so I don’t know what they put in it to make it hurt my eyes so much. I’ll just have to be really careful with it but other than that, I really like this mascara.

The next product is one that surprised me how good it was it the 3Ina The Pen Eyeliner. I’ve never tried anything from this brand before so didn’t know what to expect but the applicator is really thin and precise. The pigment is good and the eyeliner performed how I would’ve expected the Kat Von D liner to (read here). It is so easy to apply and glides along the eyelid smoothly with good staying power.

For the final hit last month, I started using the Soap & Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash which I really liked. The first time I washed my face with it, my skin looked clearer and brighter straight away. I’ve got the full size of this too and been using it everyday since.

I took the Malin + Goetz Peppermint Shampoo on holiday as I had a mini size and I really regretted that decision. It left my hair looking greasy even after washing it and it seemed to suck all the moisture out of my hair. I won’t be using it again. The conditioner was ok but the shampoo gets a big thumbs down from me.

The final product for this post is the Lancome La Vie Est Belle Shower Gel and shockingly, I’m going to label it a miss. Lancome is a brand I usually adore and rate their products but this shower gel was packed with too much perfume and it didn’t feel right as a body wash. It does the job of a shower gel but it’s not for me.

Those were my hits and misses for October, what have you been loving lately? Let me know in the comments below. Have a good weekend. Thanks for reading XOXO.
