I really need to do these posts more often (I know I say that every time) because the amount of empty containers I had was a bit ridiculous. Throughout the last few months or so I have managed to use up a fair amount of products that I wanted to share with you all so you can hear about which ones I would recommend or repurchase. To start things off I am going to show you the bottles of fake tan I finished.
It’s not very often I will use up a bottle of fake tan as I don’t regularly wear it so to see two empties here is very surprising. The first is the St. Tropez Bronzing Mist which I like to use when I want to give myself a quick spritz for a fast natural looking tan. I really enjoy using this and I have 2 more bottles as back up.
Another bottle is a self tanning lotion so this needs to be applied with a mitt. I like to use the St. Moriz Self Tan Lotion when I want a full body tan. I apply it after cleansing and moisturising, then leave it to develop over night before washing. This is a great affordable option that doesn’t leave you looking patchy and streaky.
For my hair care empties there’s 5 products which seems a little bit excessive for just a few months worth but each has a different purpose. First is a Tresemme Keratin Smooth Hair Mask which deeply conditioning my hair and left it feeling so silky and soft. I loved giving my hair a pampering with this and will repurchase.
Next is another product from Tresemme which is the Heat Defence Spray. When I was researching How To Get Longer Healthier Hair, I learned that in order for your hair to grow it needs to be healthy. To protect my hair from the damaging heat, this has been a go to product of mine. It doesn’t leave your hair sticky and there’s no residue left behind. Along with other products, I have this to thank for my hair growing so quickly these last couple of years.
As I am a blonde, I like to use purple shampoo and conditioners to maintain my colour and to get rid of any brassy tones in my hair. The Pro:Voke Touch Of Silver Brightening Shampoo is a cheap and easy way to give my hair more of an ashy blonde tone. I put this on my hair about once a week and leave it on for 3-5 minutes before rinsing it off.
I only recently started using dry shampoos and I haven’t looked back since. As I have long fairly thick hair, it takes forever to dry and most of the time I just can’t be bothered to wash it as it’s too much effort. I do aim to do it every 3 days but sometimes I can leave it for 4/5 days. In between washes I like to use it to get rid of excess oil and give my hair a volume boost. This Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo leaves no residue and smells good too.
Finally for hair products I finished off a Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo which left my hair beautifully hydrated and nourished. I’ve repurchased this shampoo several times but I do like to mix up my hair care now and again.
Onto makeup I managed to finish off only 3 products. There’s a few more products that are almost empty but didn’t quite make it in time for this post. The first piece of makeup is a Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation which was too dark for me so I would add into lighter foundations. This was my go to foundation for years as it was comfortable on my skin and provides decent coverage without a hefty price tag. However I have since discovered different foundations I prefer so I won’t be repurchasing this.
A bit broken, but a well loved mascara, is the L’Oreal Paris Superstar Mascara. It’s a double ended wand with a primer on one side that just helps to lengthen and give extra volume to the lashes. I am a massive fan of L’Oreal mascaras and would repurchase this in the future.
The final piece of makeup is a Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner in the shade 18 Addiction which is my absolute favourite lip product and I always have to carry one with me. It’s long lasting and gives my lips a fuller looking pout.
For skincare I used up 5 products which I think is quite low considering how much I use. As someone who moisturises day and night, it’s no surprise I went through a tub of Olay Firm & Lift Day Cream. I’ve repurchased this several times already as I feel it really tightens and plumps my face.
I also finished off a Nivea Lip Butter which was a life saver when I had dry lips as it was really hydrating and helped soothe any soreness. However, I didn’t like dipping my finger into a tub so I wouldn’t repurchase this unless it was in a stick form.
A product that was in a recent Project Pan is the Nivea Men Post Shave Balm. It allowed me to shave without having any sore red bumps afterwards. The only thing I didn’t like was the scent as I’m not a fan of smelling like a man so I’d really like to try a similar product tailored to women.
My very first serum I tried was the Lancome Advanced Genifique Serum which I used before applying other products as to lock in the moisture. It is a expensive product so unless it came in a gift set, I wouldn’t outright purchase it again.
Similar to a serum, I also used up a Lancome Energie De Vie Liquid Moisturiser which really locked in the moisture and gave my face some seriously needed hydration.
Finally, I’ve got a selection of different products that didn’t fit into the other catergories. First is a Garnier Moisture Bomb Face Mist that provides refreshment and a bonus of SPF30. I like to take this with me on holiday for whenever I need a cooling down.
A body wash and moisturiser the Zoella Shower Shake provides a lovely rich in shower hydration that lasts all day. I really liked this and I’m sad to see it go. The bottle is bloody adorable!
Nothing particularly exciting but I went through a Lynx Attract For Her. I’m sure many of us had a few of these from Christmas and I’ve finally finished my last one from last year. I like to give myself a quick spray to feel a bit fresher without putting on perfume.
I decided to try a new deodorant which is the Sure Bright Bouquet Deodorant and to put it simply, I didn’t like it. It left white powder patches under my arm which would crumble up.
Last on this never ending list of products is the Simple Micellar Water. It’s gentle on my skin whilst being effective at removing my makeup. I’ve brought this over and over again and will continue to do so until I find something better.
Those were my product empties for July, August and September. I hope it was somewhat helpful in what products I would rate and those I slate. I’m hoping to be more on the ball with these types of posts from now on. Thanks for reading XOXO.
