Project Pan | Summer 2018- Update

As the never ending summer of 2018 is coming to an end, I thought it was time for an update on how my Project Pan was going. This time round I gave myself smaller more realistic goals in a 3 month period. I really enjoy setting myself the task of using up products that are taking up space in my collection because I either dislike them or have way too many. I’ve also been more mindful about purchasing additional skincare and makeup items and only buying the essentials (with the odd treat of course)! One of the ways I’ve been buying less is not getting beauty boxes every month as I want to finish up the products I already own.

As you can see from the comparison photos, there’s only 2 out of 4 products left which is a great start. The Collection Setting Spray is almost finished and will be done once used a few more times. I’ve used this at least several times a week so I’m quite impressed with how long it’s lasted. One of my goals was to used up a hand cream so I started to regularly use it as I have quite a few in my stash of skincare that never get touched. From using hand creams I’ve noticed how much faster my nails seem to be growing also. The Nivea Post Shave Balm had also been used up and I actually miss it slightly, it was great for getting rid of soreness after shaving. I’d like a purchase a similar lotion tailored for women because I didn’t enjoy the masculine scent on me. Last on this picture is some coconut oil from Superdrug. I’m a bit disappointed in myself in not using more of this but I am now half way down which is good.

Then

With it being unusually hot for ages in the UK, I’ve not felt like wearing much makeup, so some of the products didn’t get used up as much as I’d hoped. That being said, I’m going to continue to use these products until their gone. First is a mini of the YSL Black Opium. I’ve wore this a lot and surprisingly, it’s not gone down too much. I’ve been keeping it on my dresser and applying it almost daily so hopefully it’ll be used up soon. I wanted to pan this mini perfume as I have two of them. Next is another perfume that was given to me which is a Hugo Boss mini and I dislike the scent of this one so only used a smidgen of this. I’ll keep applying this though when I’m not going anywhere fancy just so I can use it up (because I hate throwing stuff away).
An eyeshadow palette that I’ve had for about 4-5 years is the W7 In The Nude palette (review here) which is obviously a dupe for the Naked 3 by Urban Decay. I want to try and get more use out of this palette before throwing it away. In the first cream shade there’s more metal in the pan showing and a few of the other brown shades have more of a dent in them. With the heatwave we’ve had, who wants to apply eyeshadow? I should see more progress in the autumn months. I also wanted to finish off a Rimmel Perfect Match foundation as the shade is too dark for me so I have to mix it in with a lighter one. As you can see from the photos this has gotten some use and is nearly finished.
Next is the Collection Bronze Glow and admittedly I’ve not been using this as much as I should have done. The dip in this is slightly deeper but nothing to shout about. The L’Oreal Lip Liner was getting really short and I actually lost it but I think I would have used it all up by now anyway. Finally for this project pan was a BB Cream by Garnier. I don’t like this as it oxidises on my skin and ends up darker and looking orange. It just makes me look greasy and sweaty which nobody wants but with a hell of a lot of powder, I made this work a few times so it’s gone down a touch.

That was it for this Project Pan. I’ll be starting a new one for autumn soon. I really enjoy these posts as it gives me a kick up the bum to use the products I already have. I hope you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading XOXO.
