Starting Your Autumn Wardrobe

“I need a new jacket.”

Is what I say everytime I go shopping. Although, I have an excuse now because autumn has arrived. The air is cooler, the mornings are crispier and the fashion gets a whole lot better!

Jackets & Coats

With every new season the first thing I look for is a new coat or jacket. I’m definitely one of them girls that has more coats than days of the months. I love them and they really finish a look. A jacket is the first step in transitioning your wardrobe from summer to autumn as having bare arms is no longer an option. My favourites are a biker jacket and a classic trench coat. They are in style year after year and look so chic. These are some of my favourites from the high street this year.

Who doesn’t love shoes? Even men who hate clothes shopping love shoes! For autumn I like to swap my flip flops and sandals for ankle boots. These are the ultimate statement that autumn’s here and winter is coming. Teamed up with denim jeans, skirts or dresses, they are so versatile and a new trendy pair will really update your look. For the colder days, an over the knee boot is a stylish way of giving your legs an extra layer of warmth. Here’s my autumnal footwear picks.

For me, nothing says Autumn fashion quite like a skirt with a pair of black tights. It symbolises that the weather is no longer warm enough for bare legs and it’s time to start layering up. This year animal print is bang on trend, which I’m very pleased about as I love me a bit of leopard print, and an easy way to incorporate that is a printed mini skirt. Here’s some of the skirts I think would be perfect for the new season.

Those were some of my picks for starting an autumn wardrobe, which I have to say is probably my favourite time of year. With just a few key pieces you can really update your look and look fabulously stylish whilst doing so. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of my recommendations. Thanks for reading XOXO.
