Steps I’m Taking To Improve My Mental & Physical Health

Compared to the last couple of years, the start of 2018 has been pretty good. I’m in one of the best places I’ve ever been in terms of my mental health and feel ready to reduce my medication dosage.

That being said the cold dark days can take their toll on me and from not wanting to get out of bed in the morning can lead to a domino effect for the rest of the day. One failed achievement after another until I’m left feeling useless and deflated. I want to take these steps to change my lifestyle in order for a more positive mental health, as well as physically too.

Waking up earlier will ensure I have a good start to the day by having the time to get things done without needing to rush. I feel like it will be the first step to a successful day. It’s also beneficial as the days I do need to get up early, I won’t be so tired and grumpy.

Stretching each day to relieve tension and stress will give me a few quiet minutes to myself to step away from technology, as well as improving my blood circulation and flexibility. Improving my blood circulation will give me an extra boost of energy.

Appreciate the little things so I can find the positive in every situation. On Sunday I was awake to watch the sun rise from my window and all the colours in the sky looked so beautiful. I would normally not take any notice but I paused and just appreciated the beauty of it. I believe little things like this help with my battle against depression.

Eat a healthier diet so I can look and feel better in myself. Eating a box of chocolates whilst snuggling under a duvet seems like a great idea but afterwards I’m just left feeling sluggish and crappy about myself. We all know the benefits of a healthy diet.

Exercise and get my heart rate going will help me feel more energised and productive. It will also ensure I get a better night’s sleep. Endorphins are your friend.

Take care of my skin so I don’t feel like I’ve aged 10 years when I look in the mirror. I always feel like I’m on top of things and have my life sorted when I’ve moisturised. Not only that it’s lovely to give yourself  some TLC.

I hope you enjoyed reading the steps I’m taking to improve my mental and physical health and it inspired you in some way to make positive changes to your own lifestyle. Thanks for reading XOXO.

Be kind for everyone you meet could be fighting their own battle.

This is very important. I started having severe mental health problems about a year ago and I stopped taking medication in October. The cold weather did have a negative effect on me and steps like waking up earlier have helped me A LOT. This is very useful.
    Have a good day! ❤️

I love your ability to speak from the heart.

As a soft tissue specialist…movement Analyst and elite performance coach…I run my own clinic fixing “broken people” and working with professional athletes.

I really enjoyed the passion in this post and the path you have chosen…it’s empowering.

You are a great role model for women, so just a quick message to say…keep doing you!

Don’t forget that 99% wouldn’t have the burning desire and dedication to put their heart and soul on the line for us all to read.

Hope all goes well. I wish you nothing but prosperity and success.

    Have an amazing day
